Public Health Center - Seville

About The Project

Location: Sevile, Spain
Type: Public Health Center
Developer: Junta de Andalucia
Scope of works: Design and supervision
Area: 2700
Status: Completed
Awarded to our firm through a public design competition, this rational but expressive health centre adopts the shape of its rectangular plot. Located in Palmete district, city of Seville, the building is composed of three parallel blocks connected by a double high main corridor which carries users and staff along the different departments in an attractive spatial sequence. The external facades adjacent to the surrounding streets are built with red bricks while the internal courts among the blocks are cladded with clear natural sandstone. The building, which is a strong red brick block from the surroundings, becomes beige and elegant once inside, creating the feeling there are two different buildings in one.
